KH Disc Golf – Family & Friends

Privacy notice · updated 14 October 2026

In brief: Playing data is primarily stored on the user's device. Raw GPS points from throw measurement, routes and location history are not stored. For a weather snapshot, the device sends its current precise location directly to Open-Meteo. Feedback and sharing transfer information to an external app only when the user starts and approves the action.

2. Information processed by the app

Depending on the user's actions, the app may process and store the following in local device storage:

  • player names and local player profiles
  • round and game scores
  • round history, records and achievement snapshots
  • custom courses, course settings and personal course ratings
  • personal course map images selected by the user
  • the Card Deck and card acquisition details
  • discs added to the Disc Bag and their saved details
  • disc name, manufacturer, plastic, colour and user notes
  • Speed, Glide, Turn and Fade flight numbers
  • purchase price and date
  • weight, condition, My rating and My preference from one to five stars
  • a disc image selected from the user's gallery
  • practice sessions, accepted throw distances, direction angles, discs and analysis snapshots
  • the calculated total distance walked during a round or practice session and a weather snapshot
  • app settings
  • local ZIP backups created by the user.

3. Storage

Information is stored on the user's device in the app's local SQLite database and app-managed files. Course maps and disc images selected by the user are copied to the app's local storage.

The app does not use KH INDUSTRIAL user accounts, sign-in or a KH Disc Golf cloud service. KH INDUSTRIAL does not receive normal player, round, course, disc, image or settings data on its server. The app does not use analytics, advertising SDKs, Firebase, crash-reporting services or telemetry.

4. Location and distance walked

Distance tracking is optional and off by default. The user enables it and the app then requests the Android location permission needed for the feature.

Location is used to calculate distance during an active round, distance-practice session or distance-throwing game started by the user. A foreground service allows measurement to continue while the screen is off or the app is temporarily not visible. Measurement ends when the activity is completed or discarded, and tracking can be disabled in settings.

For GPS throw measurement, start and end coordinates, accuracy and timestamps are processed in memory to calculate straight-line distance and throw direction. Only the user-approved calculated distance, direction angle, measurement time, selected disc and available analysis snapshot are saved. Raw GPS points, routes and coordinate history are not stored. The app does not request ACCESS_BACKGROUND_LOCATION.

5. Weather snapshots and Open-Meteo

To retrieve local weather for a round, the app may send the device's current precise latitude and longitude directly from the device to Open-Meteo over an encrypted HTTPS connection.

The app retrieves temperature, weather code, wind speed, gusts and wind direction. KH Disc Golf does not store the precise coordinates used for a weather request in history; only the weather snapshot is stored locally. Coordinates are not sent to a KH INDUSTRIAL server.

Open-Meteo states that its Free API may log IP addresses for technical and abuse-prevention purposes. Diagnostic logs may contain request URLs with geographic coordinates; Open-Meteo states that individual logs are deleted after 90 days and are not shared with third parties. The provider is OpenMeteo GmbH, Switzerland. For details, see Open-Meteo's terms and privacy information.

The app uses Open-Meteo's Free API. Use requires a non-commercial purpose, compliance with usage limits and CC BY 4.0 attribution. Weather data: Open-Meteo.

6. Feedback and sharing

The feedback feature opens the device's email app with a pre-filled message to kimmo@khindustrial.com. The message may include the user's text, app version, device manufacturer and model, Android version, optional round context and up to five images selected by the user and reduced locally. The user reviews and approves the message in the email app; the app does not send feedback in the background.

When a user shares a scorecard or card gift, the app creates a local PNG image and opens the Android share sheet. The image is transferred only to the app or service selected by the user. Further processing is governed by the privacy terms of the email provider, recipient or sharing destination.

7. Selecting images and files

When the user selects a course map, disc image, backup to restore or backup destination, the app uses Android's system image or file picker. It processes only the content selected by the user for that action.

A disc image is selected with Android's system photo picker. The app does not gain general access to the complete photo library. The selected image is copied to local app storage and may be included in a ZIP backup created by the user. The app does not use the camera.

8. The app's ZIP backup

The user can create a local ZIP backup in a chosen storage location. A backup may contain:

  • the local SQLite database
  • app settings
  • the user's personal course maps
  • local Disc Bag images.

The backup is not sent to KH INDUSTRIAL or its servers. The user is responsible for where a backup is stored and how it is retained, transferred and deleted.

9. Android system backup

The app does not participate in Android cloud backup. Its local database, custom course maps, Disc Bag images, settings and other app-managed user files are excluded.

The same data is also excluded from device-to-device transfer on Android 12 and newer. KH INDUSTRIAL cannot control manufacturer or operating-system behaviour outside the Android rules defined by the app.

To move data to a new device, use the app's user-initiated ZIP backup and restore feature.

10. Network access and permissions

The app uses a network connection to retrieve weather from Open-Meteo. The Android app therefore uses Internet access and the location permissions ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION, ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION, FOREGROUND_SERVICE and FOREGROUND_SERVICE_LOCATION. It does not use ACCESS_BACKGROUND_LOCATION or request general storage, camera, microphone or Advertising ID permission.

11. Deleting information

The user can delete local information with app features or by uninstalling the app and removing its data. Separately saved ZIP backups and files shared to external apps must be deleted from their storage locations. Deletion of feedback sent to KH INDUSTRIAL may be requested through the privacy contact; other email and sharing services follow their own procedures.

12. Children and user accounts

The app does not require an account, email address or sign-in. Players can be added locally by name. The Google Play target audience and age rating are defined in Google Play Console.

13. Changes to this notice

This notice will be updated if the app later adds online services, analytics, user accounts or other processing that changes the current model.
